Designed to be worn on its own or to layer perfectly beneath our Big Jean Jacket or Trench, the Shetland Wool Liner Coat is made from 100% Shetland wool in a rare double weave, gray on the outside, white on the inside, both the natural, undyed colors of the sheep. The fabric is soft yet sturdy, offering warmth without bulk.

Care Instructions - Shetland Wool

This coat is made from 100% natural, undyed Shetland wool, a durable and resilient fiber that naturally resists dirt and odor. With the right care, it will last for decades.

Avoid frequent washing. Wool cleans itself through airing; hang your coat outdoors or in a steamy bathroom to refresh it. Spot clean with cool water and a mild wool soap as needed. Gently blot, never rub, to preserve the weave structure. If a full wash is necessary, soak in lukewarm water with a natural wool wash soap (we like eucalin), do not agitate. Squeeze out excess water. Dry flat, away from direct sunlight or heat sources, to maintain the coat’s shape and texture. Wool naturally ages beautifully, the fibers will soften, the surface will develop character, and the coat will only get better with time.

All of our clothing is garment dyed with plants, and finished with a non-toxic enzyme wash. We do not use any chemicals or heavy metals in the processing of our fabrics or dyeing of our clothing. Our fabric is 100% organic and sourced from sustainable mills in Japan, each garment is lovingly sewn and dyed in small batches in Los Angeles.

To properly care for your plant dyed garments, wash on cold with like colors with eco detergent and hang to dry in a shady/breezy spot. Colors will fade if left in the sun. Some dyes react to citrus.

Darker colored garments may feel stiff to the touch but will soften with regular washing.
